Portugal v Spain

In the first semi-final we will see Portugal and Spain and I certainly believe and also hope that Portugal will go through for a couple of reasons. First of all, the team's captain Cristiano Ronaldo has improved in form in the last couple of matches and scored some goals and surely he motivates his team players in that way. Portugal has players from Real Madrid - Pepe and the same Cristiano Ronaldo and since Spain is full of Barcelona's players and Spain's gameplay is similar they won't have a hard time thinking how to play against them. The other reason is the hoping - I really hope that Spain won't advance because I don't want a boring final of this great competition. I was very sleepy when I watched Spain play against France. Of course, France hasn't the quality players that Portugal for example has and the game on Wednesday should be much more interesting to watch. The value of bets in this game is on Portugal to win or advance IMO.

Cristiano Ronaldo has found form for the Portuguese after a slow start and will surely be key to their chances of upsetting their Iberian neighbours, with the Real Madrid man expected to test the Spanish defence more than the whole France team.
Lone striker Helder Postiga will miss the Spain clash through injury so Hugo Almeida is expected to step in.

great posts, my take...this will be a low scoring match, with the Spanish holding the ball for around 60-65% of the time with Portugal looking to counter. I agree that Ronaldo has improved over the last few matches, I disagree that he make those around him better. Portugal will sit back and look for a chance, the Spain side will be comfortable with a slow game that they hold the ball and take advantage. Spain advances and then hands the trophy to the Germans.
